Courses

"Company Valuation and Advanced Financial Modeling using Excel and VBA." Classes will meet on Saturday's and/ or Sunday's at Mumbai/ New Delhi/ Bangalore. The program is designed to enable the participants to develop advanced modeling skills using Excel and VBA. This program will act as an excellent complement to your existing qualifications such as an MBA or progress towards the CFA designation since it enables you to gain the practical skills that employers are looking for but which are missing from mainstream educational programs such as the MBA degree.

India/ Asia perspective

Education that is equivalent to US bachelor's degree is the minimum requirement for signing up for Level I exam. Also students in the final year of their studies are eligible to take the exam. Normally it takes 4 years to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree in the U.S. as compared to 3 years for a B.A or B.Com degree in India. However CFA Institute has stated that if the India degree leads to similar job opportunities then it wil be considered equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree, even if it does not encompass 4 years of study. We advice India students (with 3 year degrees) to drop an email to CFA Institute and get written email confirmation on thier eligibility.

FRM (Financial Risk Manager)

The FRM exam has transitioned to a two level exam starting November 2009. Begining in May 2010 the FRM exams will be administered twice a year in May and November. Also it will become mandatory for candidates to pass both the levels before being awarded the FRM title.

However it is possible for candidates to appear for both levels in the same exam sitting and thereby complete the exam in one attempt!

This is because Level I exam will be administered in the morning and Level II exam will be administered in the afternoon and GARP is allowing candidates to register and sit for both exams on the same day.

1.FRM title holder and qualified practitioners will lead the class

2.The program is broken out into 15 modules, of approx. 3 ½ hours each

3.Key concepts and illustrative problems will be covered in class

4.Review notes will be provided in power point slides, word documents & excel spreadsheets

5.Comprehensive problem sets (along with solutions) will also be provided

• Over 50 problems for each module (and total of about 1500 problems)
• Important to solve problems independently to gain the right skills and confidence

6. Includes two sample exams in classroom in simulated exam conditions!

Additional two sample exams will also be provided for candidates to work on

7.Receive instantaneous feedback/ analysis of the sample exam and suggestions around areas of opportunity (to optimally allocate and maximize the value of your study time)

Mumbai batch: Classes will be held at PN Singh Center for HRD, Santa Cruz (East), Mumbai

New Delhi batch: Classes will be held at YWCA, Ashoka Road, New Delhi

Fees

Rs. 28,000 (including service tax) per person for the 6 module program.

Note: We also offer a more comprehensive Financial Modeling program that covers Equity modeling,Fixed Income Modeling,Options Modeling and Portfolio Optimization. The price for that program is Rs. 75,000 per person and it is spread across 20 days
