The world has become a small village due to the revolution in Information Technology. It has affected almost all walks of life, be it business, education, entertainment services and healthcare. This program is designed to produce a dynamic breed of computer professionals with excellent managerial skills. Emphasis is given to in-depth studies of numerous applicationoriented subjects, covering various methodologies to develop software products efficiently by utilizing advance networking technologies and application software. MCA is a program of 6 semesters with the provision of multiple exit degree system. Depending on the qualifications & conditions specified, different options are presented here.

Provision for lateral entry to second semester of MCA:

Eligibility:3 year graduation and six month Computer course from a reputed institution *.

Additional Fees:In addition to the normal fees, an additional lateral entry fee of Rs.3,800/- (including examination fees) is payable by the students opting under this scheme.

Note:In this Lateral Entry Scheme, students have to appear and pass the First Semester Examination. Books of First semester will be supplied by the University and Internal Assessment will be completed at the Learning centre.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications [PGDCA]

PGDCA is an initiation program for students who want to become skillful and knowledgeable IT professionals. The program gives fundamental knowledge of computers, operating systems, internet, computational techniques, file & data structure and the core of programming. After successful completion of the first two semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the program, such a student shall be awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications [PGDCA] as an exit qualification.

Provision for Re- entry to third semester of MCA/MScCS:

Eligibility: PGDCA of SMU ( Revised Fall 2007)


Semester Fee:Rs.12,700/- per semester (inclusive of Exam Fee Rs.800/- & Alumni Fee Rs. 100/-) or as revised from time to time.


Minimum duration:2 years ( 4 semesters )

Master of Science in Computer Science [MScCS]


After successful completion of the first four semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the program, such a student shall be awarded the Master of Science in Computer Science (MScCS)

Eligibility:MScCS of SMU ( Revised Fall 2007)

Semester Fee:Rs.13200/- per semester (inclusive of Exam Fee Rs.800/- & Alumni Fee Rs. 100/-)oras revised from time to time.

Minimum duration:1 year ( 2 semesters )

A maximum gap of one year is allowed for the student to get admitted under this scheme after completion of MScCS.

university/successful completion of A Level course from DOEACC after graduation

• 3 year graduation with 2 year diploma from CMC/ET & T/NIIT / APTECH

Admission Procedure


Candidate seeking admission in any of the course offered by the University must first Register himself/herself at the Institute and pay registration charges and the application processing charges. Candidate registered with the Institute has to fill the Admission Application Form prescribed by the University and has to attach the necessary testimonials in original and two photocopies each along with two passport size photographs. The application form and the necessary documents will then be processed by the Institute and sent to the University for admission. Candidate is required to submit the application form along with the documents before the last date of admission.


PLACEMENT CELL

This is a single point interface of the Institute with outside business world as well as, Industry for Summer Internship & Executive placement. Their activities include round the year, efforts to arrange placements/training of all the batches starting from developing database, identifying companies taking appointments, making presentations to corporates, maintaining the corporate interface and conducting various placement processes on campus. It works round the year for summer training and final placements. The backend placement committee’s primary role is to identify, maintain and upgrade database of the companies followed by initializing the communication between the Institute and the Corporate. The placement activities are coordinated by Placement Committee members in which selected student representatives liberally work towards securing placements of the students in reputed Organizations. The cell coordinates summer training programmes, rural training as well as final placements by interfacing with companies and organizes interviews. Placement Cell works under overall guidance and supervision of faculty.

CORPORATE INTERACTION CELL

Corporate Interaction cell invites executives and prominent personalities in business for guest lectures. The basic idea is to provide students with a refreshing view of the corporate world. The main aim is not only to expand the students thinking areas beyond the classrooms, but also enhancing their understanding of contemporary issues in the various fields.
