Audit Courses
On satisfying desired requirements placed by the course instructor a “P” grade will be entered in the grade card. If they do not meet the requirements, then they will not get any grade and no entry will be made in the grade card for that course.
Grades
Regular letter grades are A, B, C, D and F on a scale of 4. Other than these, I, P, S and X grades may also appear on case to case basis.
- I Grade – May be awarded if a student does not complete all the requirements for a course for a genuine reason. An I grade must be converted by the instructor to a regular letter grade by the last date for such conversion specified in the Academic Calendar, failing which it is automatically converted to an F grade.
- F Grade – A student getting an F grade in a core course must repeat it. An elective course must be either repeated or substituted as suggested by PGC.
- S/X Grade – Will be awarded for Research units. Thesis Advisor will award the grade S for each set of 3 units if the work is satisfactory and a X for every unsatisfactory 3 units.
Courses with S and X will not be taken into account in the CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) computations.
Additional requirements for continuing in the M.Tech. Program
- Not more than one F in all the courses taken.
- Not more than two X’s in thesis grades.
