The college was founded by the D.A.V. College Managing Committee on July 26, 1948 in the sacred memory of Mahatma Hans Raj, a pioneer in the field of education. It is today one of the leading lights in the D.A.V. family of over 700 institutions.
Hans Raj College is a constituent college of University of Delhi and a premier imstitution of the DAV Managing Committee, the largest non-government educational organization of the country. After partition DAV Managing Committee decided to set up its institutions in India and the first to be set up was DAV College Ambala. On July 26, 1948 the college was set up in memory of Mahatma Hans Raj (1882-1938) the founder of DAV College Lahore and a pioneer in the field of education.

Please fill in the application form for admission to College. The name on the application form must tally with the name on the Date of Birth Certificate. The application form and fee structure are available in the new Prospectus, which will be available at the College. The Pre-Admissions Counseling Cell will be set up to answer questions and give general guidance regarding admissions.
The College has four well-equipped and well-managed Computer Laboratories.
Approximately 130 state-of-the-art machines from IBM, HCL & HP and LCD Projectors and an interactive board are available along with all necessary peripherals. The College has facilities for both outdoor and indoor games. Its student have won University, State and National level championships in pistol Shooting, Archery(W), Water Polo, Basketball, Badminton, Cricket etc.
