After Completion of theory paper, students have to undergo atleast three month Mandatory Apprenticeship / practical training at any AICTE recognised degreecollege for award of Associate Membership of IME (I) equivalent to Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Scope and prospectus after completion of the course
- A pass in section A and section B of Associate Membership examination of the IME is treated at par with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from an Indian university for recruitment to superior posts and services under central government.
- Students who have completed this course are eligible for the GATE exam conducted for post graduate courses. Number of students after completing the course have gone abroad for further studies.
- They can occupy responsible posts in Private, Public Sectors, govt organizations, ONGC, IAF, Army, Navy coast guard, railway and some more of reputed firms & establishments where B.E./B.Tech Qualification is required.
- Also they can appear for CET & CAT for MBA Programme
- AMIME is also recognized by U.P.S.C for the engineering service examination.
