The Distance Education Centre of SIOM was established in 2005 with a view to offer Management Programmes under Distance Education Mode, namely PGDM; PGDMM, PGDHRM, PGDFM, PGDOM, DMM; DHRM; DFM; DOM. The Distance Education Centre (SIOM-DEC) has been recognized by Distance Education Council of India. The two year Post Graduate Diploma as well as the one year Diploma will be awarded by SIOM-DEC.

The Management programmes of SIOM-DEC are designed to cater to the needs of employed persons, self-employed individuals and all others who aspire for advancement of their career in the present competitive business environment. The programmes are aimed at exploring potential abilities of this 'off the classroom society' through distance learning modes of higher education. The SIOM-DEC provides with a strong academic base of core areas in functional management viz. Marketing, Human Resource Management, Finance and Operations. The academic inputs of the students along with their present work-experience will help them to develop their skills for problem solving and decision making process of business organizations.

Thus SIOM-DEC tries to encompass and involve the aspiring youth for empowering academic excellence with global insights.
