Overview


Star Aviation is an educational group at National Capital Region (NCR), offering a range of courses in Applied Sciences and Aviation. Star Aviation Academy (SAA) was established at NCR in 2005 and was approved by Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India in 2006. The training at SAA meets international standards, in accordance with regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India.

Our faculty at STAR AVIATION ACADEMY includes experienced professionals having vast knowledge in Aviation Industry. We want to give our best in imparting theoretical and practical training to Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. We have established full fledged training facilities in all respects including computer based training for engineers. Course Offered


Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME)

The maintenance engineers of the aviation industry are backbone of any Airline. They are among the most elite groups of individuals who draw attractive salary package and are respected for their professionalism, dedication and hard work throughout the world.

As we know that an aircraft is very expensive and sophisticated machine which needs precise handling and proper maintenance. To accomplish this highly skilled task, trained personnel are required who should be thoroughly conversant with the aircraft and its systems.

All technical work on the Aircraft is carried out under Authority of a DGCA licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. AME is responsible to certify the Aircraft to be Airworthy before each flight.

Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course is a Basic course, approved by Director General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, required for entering the field of Maintenance and repair of aircraft and its accessories. Students are trained, during the course in the Academy, to obtain AME license from DGCA.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum age 16 yrs.
  • Passed 10 +2 in science subjects (P&M) with min. 50% in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics or a higher qualification in science from recognised Board/University.

OR

  • Three years Diploma in any branch of Engineering.

Course Duration

Total duration for this course is three years arranged in six semesters for theory and practical classes.
The concept of theory and practical classes will not only develop a manual skill essential for AME but also give thorough concept of aircraft and its systems to the students. They study and practice in Institute for five semesters and in the final (Sixth) semester, they do their practical training with an airline, which may be arranged by the Institute or students can do so by their own.

As prescribed and monitored by the Director General of Civil Aviation Govt. of India, a brief course schedule of mechanical stream of A.M.E. course is given below for reference:

Fifth Semester

1. Aero engine maintenance practices

3. Aircraft maintenance practices

Sixth Semester

1. On job training.


Admission Procedure July -2010


Admission Test : Date and venue will be intimated to you alongwith roll number.

HOW TO APPLY:

  1. Application for admission to a course should be made on the prescribed form available with the prospectus.
  2. Candidates seeking admission should enclose the following documents along with the application:

i.Date of birth certificate or matric certificate (attested copy).

ii.Copies of mark sheets of 10 +2 ( Phy & Maths) (attested copy).

iii.Character certificate in original.

iv. 5 passport size photographs.

v.Medical certificate from M.B.B.S. Doctor for physical fitness, color vision, Medical examination can be arranged by the Academy also.

  1. Application can be submitted in person at the office along with required documents and fee between 0900 to 1700 hrs on any working day.
  2. DD should be drawn in favour of Star Aviation Academy payable at New Delhi.

Employment Oppotunities


The courses offered are job oriented and there are excellent employment opportunities for the A.M.E. license holders. AME’s can get employment in all aviation organizations in State and Central Govt. PSU’s, Aircraft manufacturers, Domestic Airlines like Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Air India etc., Foreign Airlines like Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways etc., Non- scheduled and private Aircraft operators, Aircraft Maintenance organizations, Aircraft handling organizations etc.

  • Library subscribes to the Indian and foreign aviation Journals. We have access to electronic foreign Journals in engineering field.
  • A reference and reading area with a good seating capacity enables student to refer the books in their spare time.
  • Students benefit from various information update services provided.
  • Internet access has been provided.

Transport Facilities
Bijwasan (Delhi) is the main road head near the institute for DTC buses. We provide free transport to/from this point.
